Statement of the Moldova National Platform regarding the dismissal of the Minister of Environment
Currently, the Republic of Moldova has entered a critical period of intense work to fulfill its numerous and substantial obligations related to integration into the European Union. The fate of the country depends on the quality of the work performed. This task can only be executed effectively by highly qualified staff within the executive body.
Regrettably, we observe that political party interests in personnel policy sometimes override the strategic interests of the country. Specifically, we express our disagreement and lack of understanding regarding the decision to dismiss Minister of Environment Ms. Rodica Iordanov. During her term, she demonstrated professionalism and effective leadership. Furthermore, given the acute shortage of personnel, we believe that her replacement lacks experience in this field, which necessitates knowledge and years of activity in this specific domain.
In light of the above, we express our regret, misunderstanding, and indignation toward this government action. We urge measures to prevent the loss of high-quality specialists in the future, regardless of their affiliation with the ruling party or their opinions.
